We’ve featured countless of beautiful shoes last year and as much as we love all of them, there are only a handful of pairs that really stood out and will forever linger in our hearts. And because a new year has come, we figured what better way to celebrate the end of 2012 than to look back on all of our fave shoes!

Brian Atwood Multicolored Satin Buckle Sandals

Brian Atwood Multicolored Satin Buckle Sandals, sale $560.70 (from $1,335)

This Brian Atwood sandal showcases a bold mix of colors that’s very rare in gladiator sandals. The rarity turned out to be a great thing because until now, we can’t get it out of our heads. This find sparked major curiosity and interest on one of our old posts and it definitely deserves the spotlight!

Jeffrey Campbell Spend Shoe

Jeffrey Campbell Spend Shoe, sale $203.96 (from $254.95)

Who could forget this fringed Jeffrey Campbell sandal that was all about fierceness? Every time you need a fix of fresh, over-the-top heels, you can count on designer Jeffrey Campbell to give you all that and more.

Christian Louboutin Lady Max Sandal

Christian Louboutin Lady Max Sandal, sale $899 (from $1,495)

The Lady Max sandal is a celeb favorite. It has graced the feet of A-listers like Jada Pinkett Smith, Laetitia Casta, Marion Cotillard and Rihanna. We totally understand their obsession over this Louboutin heel. I mean, who can resist its spiky, gilded beauty?

Giuseppe Zanotti T-Strap Gladiator Sandal

Giuseppe Zanotti T-Strap Gladiator Sandal, sale $490.95 (from $981.91)

There were a lot of trends that surfaced last year but our ultimate fave is the heelless trend. This trend caught on very quick, which proved that the world was ready for bold, fearless fashion not just on the high-fashion runways but also on the streets.

Jimmy Choo Lance Turqouise and Tangerine

Jimmy Choo ‘Lance’ Sandals in Turquoise and Tangerine, $725

Jimmy Choo is one of our most featured shoe designers and I’m sure this doesn’t come as a surprise to many of you. This brand never fails to create the most elegant, timeless and wearable shoes for women and several celebs prefer Choos specially on red carpets. Teal, turquoise and tangerine were some of the hottest colors of 2012 and the strappy Lance sandal conveniently comes in these colorways.

Because online retailers have new stocks and fresh styles, most of these shoes from 2012 are currently on sale, so this is the perfect time to splurge on them! Did we miss out on your fave sandals of 2012? Tell us your own top picks!

Party Look: Match Your Strappy Gladiator Sandals with Your Cocktail Dress

More parties on the horizon? Strappy sandals look spectacular with cocktail dresses. This fact is proven by the ladies in attendance at the special private screening of the all new episodes of R. Kelly’s hip hopera Trapped in the Closet.

LeShay N. Tomlinson who plays Cathy in the made for TV movie, graced the red carpet in a black, strapless peplum dress matched with a simple pair of strappy leather sandals. It was a simple but sexy attire, perfect for the exclusive event.

Rebecca Minkoff has a cool and refined pair of sandals that can pull of this sleek look. It’s sculptural with its slender straps and angular, stacked heel. This goes really well with Blaque Label’s feathered dress that features a sweetheart neckline.

Another one of our favorite looks at the event goes to E! Correspondent Alicia Quarles. She looked classy in this this sleeveless mesh dress with lovely blue rosettes adorning the front. She had on a pair of lace-up, gladiator sandals which is a great way to add a solid touch to such a delicate look.

There is a black and blue lace dress by Tibi that does this ultra-feminine look brilliantly. Matched with Aquazzura’s cut-out booties, you accomplish the same sweet -meets-strong look. The clover cut out on the soft suede sandal is both modern and feminine and matches the aesthetic of the dress.

We’re all wishing for the best this coming New Year and along with that, we all look forward to more parties and celebrations where we can showcase our most beautiful pair of shoes. While you may want to chuck out the old stuff at this point, you may also want to get a bit more sentimental with some of your party sandals that are hard to let go of.

Here are 4 of the shiny, strappy sandals we think can still do the job this 2013.

1) Matt Bernson DANNIJO Zeppelin Booties, $97.50

You can never go wrong with black, pink, and glittery. Punk glamour is a style that’s here to stay and this cage bootie can give any party outfit that much needed ’70s glam rock spin. Because if anything, those guys sure know how to party, whatever the decade.

2) Diane von Furstenberg Jodi Strap Sandals, $149

A simple but golden criss cross sandal makes a timeless, sophisticated shoe especially for formal events. This metallic sandal is a great match to intricate gowns and printed maxi dresses but it’s also magical with a pair of dark denims.

3) Jerome C. Rousseau Orner Geometric Sandals, $318

We’ve seen celebrities like Rumer Willis rock this geometric pair. And something so architectural can’t be written off just because it’s so last year. So like a lot of Jerome C. Rousseau designs, this pewter-colored, leather strappy is one, stand-out keeper.

4) B Brian Atwood Lesina Strappy Sandals, $227.50

There’s more gold in the future, so we’ve been told. So these delicate strappy sandals by B Brian Atwood will grace more cocktail parties and match more metallic purses and minaudieres.

It’s always interesting when celebs spark up some cute outfits at the most unpredictable places. Made in Chelsea star Rosie Fortescue turned our heads with her rockstar chic look, which was so ironically being paraded at a Miami beach. The sandy runway might not be the most ideal place to wear gilded gladiators but we still think this look is hot!

There are several fashion pieces in this look that are worth mentioning – the studded, distressed cut-off shorts, the fedora hat (that she loves so much) and of course, those gorgeous gilded gladiator flats! We found you these equally-gorge gladiator sandals with hints of gold from our fave shopping sites if you want to steal Rosie’s look. Check them out!
