It was the premiere of the new Tom Cruise and Cameron Diaz movie “Knight and Day” at the Lope de Vega Theater in Seville, Spain last Wednesday. Tom Cruise was joined by his wife Katie Holmes on the red carpet who wore head to toe Azzedine Alaia for the event:

At first I thought Katie Holmes was standing on tip toes in these pictures (not that she needs more height over Tom Cruise or anything), but this hi-res photo revealed a hint of heel which oddly wasn’t easy to spot even with all the pictures of these two:

I can’t take my eyes off these Alaia metallic gladiator sandals. Unfortunately, their ankle boot style makes the statuesque Katie Holmes’ legs look thick. That dress with a flouncy skirt and a hem that hits at mid-thigh isn’t helping much with the cause either. Maybe the dress with the Alaias would look better if the hem was made much shorter or much longer, but either way, the Alaias are showstoppers by themselves.
I couldn’t find an online retailer of these exact Alaia sandals, but these similar ones are going for at least $1,200.00, and that’s already on sale:

There are a lot of copycat Alaia brands, but none that have Katie Holmes’ shoes yet. While they’re still busy making their “own version”, here are 3 metallic gladiator heels that’ll give you the look for less:
Steve Madden Hitower, $98.99 (was $109.99)
Charles David Chic, $154.80 (was $215.00)
Diane Von Furstenberg Luna, $284.00
