If you’re a woman who has yet to convince her man to wear sandals, or if you’re a man who’s not completely sold on the idea of wearing “mandals”, then reaching a compromise is an absolute must. While you can try and avoid all sandal-appropriate activities as much as you can, chances are, you’ll still come across a place and a time that requires you to reveal more of your feet and toes (say, a beach maybe?).
When you cannot put off wearing sandals any longer, don’t fret because there are alternatives. You don’t have to wear thong sandals or, god forbid, the dreaded flipflops if you don’t want to. There are shoe styles out there that offer all the comfort and breathability of sandals and all the sophistication and support of closed shoes.
Here are just 3 of them, in men’s gladiator sandal styles:

These Mephisto Marsilios have removable footbeds and padded linings. On sale at $243.16.

Inspired by fishermen for the non-fisher folk. Pikolinos Puerto Rico Fisherman 03A-6745 are $170.00.

Another fisherman sandal, but these lean more towards loafers. These Sperry Top-Sider Gold Cup Fisherman Sandals are $159.95.

***Bonus: Now these aren’t really gladiator sandals, but I included them because I think these Josef Seibel Staffords are almost too classy to be called sandals. Can you imagine these worn in a beach setting? I’d be afraid to get that leather scuffed. $150.00.
Do you think these “mandals” are a good compromise?
